My opinions of a toilet design made by Andre Gutierrez.

My critique of a toilet designed by a classmate.

For this plate, the class was instructed to design their ideal toilet consisting of personal desired activities to do inside it. The students were each given 2.5 x 2.5 meters of space.

Andre Gutierrez is the architect behind this impressive toilet concept. The curved walls, the sand pits, the sauna, are all part of this luxurious design. Gutierrez first listed the things he wanted to do in his ideal toilet. The list consisted of the essential basic needs, such as a toilet bowl, a sink, and a shower. He further expanded this list by establishing what other things could be done in a toilet. The additions he made went from a sauna, to a coffee machine. The strategic placement of these additional functions are done excellently to take full advantage of the provided space. For example, the steam room is put together with the showers. Not only does this save space, but it saves us from having to walk over from one to the other and therefore increases accessibility. Overall, this toilet is equipped with a music player, a coffee area, a computer, a waterfall urinal, a steam room, and a couch (on the toilet seat cover), what more could one ask for?

In addition to the functions of the toilet, Gutierrez used his design ability to create it aesthetically pleasing to the eye. As shown above, the toilet has an unusual flow along with the unorthodox shapes create an interesting look, and differentiates itself from other toilet designs. Moreover, the ingenious concept of placing sand pits around the toilet gives a natural, beach-like vibe to the toilet, which is a beautiful additional detail to the space.

To conclude, this may be a near perfect toilet considering the amount of space given. I believe that toilets serve an important function in a house, therefore having an impressive toilet is crucial. For this, I take my hat off for Gutierrez for this spectacular concept.
